A charged voyeuristic dynamic develops as two couples wait for a train to take them to some unknown destination. The travel in question turns out to be along the axis of sexuality and gender, the seen and the unseen, the desired and the feared. 1996, 12 min, 16mm

“Leder’s film observes the small details of couplehood with a keen eye, a wonderful ear (her sound design is hauntingly beautiful), and a refreshing emotional subtlety.” Jenni Olson (PopcornQ Website)

“Strait is one of the most interesting short films I’ve seen this year. Leder has a good eye and some smart ideas which a lot of gay or lesbian filmmakers don’t have or don’t cultivate.” Matthew Cibellis (programmer, Reel Affirmations Festival)
